Deshra Vines CEO/Quality Compliance Manager
Deshra has a BSA in Health Service Administration with a minor in Psychology from Baker College of Flint, Michigan. She also got her Masters degree in the study of Law from University of Toledo School of Law. She founded Precious Places LLC in 2008 and has worked with adults with complex behavioral health and medical needs for over 20 years. Deshra recognizes that there are individuals and families seeking quality supports and services without having to rely solely on county board day habilitation sites, developmental centers, and/or licensed care facilities. Seeing this as a way to bridge the gap, she desired to assist those individuals and families who are most vulnerable, thus wanting exceptional services in their private home and the community. With compassion and the love of our Lord and Savior and through Christian beliefs, she was prompted to open her agency.
“I started in the field of caregiving out of high school and I truly feel in love with working with the clients mainly Eva-Mae she was 4ft 1 and so fiesty she was non-verbal and blind in one eye she helped me learn unconditional love for a person despite there differences. From caregiving to CEO.. I was called to open of my first home in 2004 with no formal training but I trusted God. I love being a caregiver and making a positive difference in the lives I touch. I wouldn’t want to do anything else as a career path.”

“This is something I always wanted to do. Some people need care and understanding that they do not always get from their families. It was my calling from the man upstairs!”

“While I didn’t choose this job, I love helping people that is not given a lot of attention. It’s such a pleasure to make a difference, I feel I have made and continue to make every day. I go out of my way to treat every person with the respect I would want to be treated.”

“It was different, and I was intrigued by what it meant to be a caregiver. I learned that I was placed in this field for a reason. I have compassion and empathy for others, and I enjoyed making a difference in the lives of others and being a voice for them. It’s such a rewarding and humbling field of work because it could be me or anyone in the same place as them and I would want the care and love.”

“I am a nurturing person “caregiver” by default. I witnessed a sort of discrimination toward a couple people that lived in my neighborhood growing up. This caused me to have a tender spot in my heart for people with developmental challenges and I always talk to them and smile. So, when the opportunity knocked, I took a chance and enjoyed the work because I knew I was genuine and make a positive difference in the lives of those that need it.”

“My main reason for joining this field is my aunt. She is somewhat independent but still replies on my grandma and parents to help take care of her. Growing up, I always knew she was developmentally disabled, but I never really understood how to care for her. I never knew there was resources out there to help individuals with developmental disabilities or the families. I want to spread awareness and learn the best way to help my aunt.”
“There is gold, and a multitude of rubies but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” Proverbs 20:15.
